Finally managed to order some PLD chips , albeit £20 a pop  but purchased 50 as there is no guarantee if / when Atmel will have stock again. It's going to ramp up the price unfortunalty. But if I don't get some made now, parts shortages could render the project obsolete if more parts vanish while waiting for the chips to come back in stock.

I zoned out on this thread for a while, but I'm interested in picking up one of these (with Alt-RAM), if there are enough after the folks ahead of me.

I'm getting a batch made up. Probably about 30. So will be plenty for everyone. Just a bit slow going due to parts shortages.

Between myself and @Icky We had enough SRAM and FLASH to build up 34 flashy clocks.

IMG_0168.JPG

The PLDs I got look reprinted. So I'm not really sure if they are genuine / new. They are supposed to be new. But I simply do not have anything "simple" to test them on. Or the time to mess about with them. So just push them into the build pile and if they fail then I will end up fitting a new chip which I would end up doing even if I don't send these suspect chips..I will end up fitting a chip anyway. So worth a gamble that they are actually good chips. They was not exactly cheap either :(

I am rushing to get these into production because I have some vouchers which need to be used before the 2nd september

EDIT: There are only 6 PLD's which will go into production from China anyway.. All the rest came from mouser.

Finally got them into production :D Had some problems as a buffer was out of stock everywhere. So the PCB was changed to accommodate a part variation which was in stock.

I think 34 should be plenty for H5 users, considering parts shortages and price increases I fear this could well be the only time they will be produced,

Incidentally. Trudie will go into production next. Not sure when yet. Depends on when funds allow mostly. But hopefully not too long :)

The PCBs have been manufactured now. I packaged up the parts to send to China for assembly yesterday. There will be 34 built in total. These will be fully built including alt-ram.

Assembly took a hit. Seems I forgot to send the header strips and LCSC are out of stock :headbang:

Always same problem I have. That I cannot just do one thing as something else always has to take priority. Then that escalates into 20 other things  . Then by the time I get back to what I was doing in the first place, weeks or months have past and I lose track of what's what all the time :(

Because you have ordered it, and I am an H5 user, and because it's a great looking 3v addon. I will put my name in for one as well Exxos.

Now.. I will use this, with my Lightning ST, have IDE and USB with flash rom and RTC and 8mb alt ram.. just as I wanted.

I will use my STorm & Cloudy in a different machine.
