If it's still interesting:
I own a Data I/O Chiplab. It can program both of the chips.

Hi Folks,
I'm revisiting my Atari music and looking to buy a dongle for Avalon or pref Avalon2. Is anyone cloning these yet or anyone have one for sale? Unsure where this project got to. Cheers!

Huh, yeah. I need to go back and look at where my dongle project ended up when I focused on a few other things. I do have an original Avalon 2 here but I also have this nagging feeling that I managed to kill that specific dongle.

that would be amazing if it still works and you want a good home for it. Do you have manual for it too? cheers!

Hi,

AFAIK Avalon and Avalon2 are not yet cloned.

I have a black Avalon cartridge and I know there is an MMI PAL16 (R8?), but I don't have time to analyze it. I am seriously busy with other devices for a long time and, above all, I have to clean up the house environment :)

Good to know where it's at anyhow. Hope you get it cloned someday. I could use one. I'll keep checking in here.

Yeah complete original.

The PAL16R8 carts are trivially bruteforced but I don't think anyone has such a jig setup atm.
