@richard.faulkner Had a quick trawl in the garage & found the packaging for it (but not the item itself)...

It's from Best Electronics & is labelled as "ST/MEGA 40 PIN CARTRIDGE PORT EXTENSION CABLE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD SET" - it comprises a small PCB to plug into the cartridge port & a heard & the other board was the PCB with the equivalent cartridge port on the ST.

If I get chance to dig a bit deeper for the actual boards I will & will post some more info.

Of course, it's entirely possible that they may still have some stock of these...if you can get an answer from Brad - I'm pretty sure I got it from him at one of the shows around 20 years ago

No problem - we all try to help others where we can...some of the others are far more experienced with the actual mods/repairs etc. so the rest of us help as/when we can :D

If you mean this site : http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/ordering.htm#Order

Fully assembled Cartright II ST/Falcon Cartridge port extension cable set. CB102118 $39.95

is listed. Which is about 22 quid. I Wonder how much customs plus post office rip off charges i'd end up paying...

Probably not cheap...I just got it in kit form (just the two PCBs I think) but that may no longer be available.

There isn't a part number per se on the packaging either...

If I can find it, I can put up some measurements (and maybe someone can do a schematic & layout for a modern equivalent?)

That would be great - i suppose the difficult bit is making the cartridge (male?) side and the socket you can buy somewhere (Although i've read they're expensive i wouldnt mind paying for reliability - i'm making music and computer says no eats up precious time! ) :)

The male part should be easy. You could get any PCB fab to make one. The female part, on the other hand, is as rare as unicorn snot. You basically have to pull one off an ST donor board.
