Woohoo mine arrived today, it seems the delay was due to it being sent to number 11 instead of number 111

Looks really nicely done on the underside, for sure that is the way forward. The time saving alone is worth the cost of the card.

I'm a bit busy with other stuff today, but should be able to make a start on it tomorrow, so fingers crossed I will be pimping my SMD 500+ with this beauty.

I'm such a knobbler!
I had everything ready, started to build it and it wow nice, it almost falls together! Having the underside prebuilt is a great time saver.
Anyhow, I get to the very last component, the oscillator and realise its supposed to be 100mhz. Doh, I only have 50 :(

RS should be delivering one tomorrow...

Great work on this though Stephen, it really is a nice looking and well designed board.

A lot of effort went into making it simple and easy to build

Managed to find a few minutes between household duties to get the CPLD soldered and programmed. Just RAM, CPU socket, buffers and header pins to go.

Does this work ok with the buffered IDE?
I didnt get the IDE to recognise at all, so I removed IC4/5/6, replaced the 0 ohm resistors and it booted fine.

mine was built without the buffer which as you say works fine. Not tried with.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

I have no interest in buffered IDE so i havent tried it. I basically copied a circuit from an IDE buffer setup but this is as far as i'm prepared to go with it.
