Not so sure about that, I need to run through the BoM and double order first!!JezC wrote: 23 Nov 2021 22:12I did get it first working back in June 2020, so not quite that long really...it's just that I broke it earlier this year  when trying to sort out some issues with the first H5 build (getting there, though the floppy issue is still not resolved yet). :roll:rubber_jonnie wrote: 23 Nov 2021 09:03 Wow, the first post in this thread was Feb 2020, it has really been a build in slow time!!
I have a couple of H4s to build, I'd better get on it so my finished one has company :)
I still have one H4 and an H5B1 to build at some point (plus the second TF536...waiting on PLD & DRAM courtesy of the global shortages).
Maybe it should be a friendly competition to see who builds up their next system first? Spoiler alert - it's almost certain to be you!

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

@rubber_jonnie I doubt I will manage to check what I'm still missing before Christmas, so I still think you have a good chance to build yours first!

Re: JezC H4 Build - in slow time
Spent much of the day trying to get my temperature down after the booster jab yesterday afternoon...so very little progress as a result.
Also, bad news in that my plan to fit an Exxos ST version of the TF536 will have to change now all the boards have sold out. :(
Oh well, I will see what else I can put in this H4 (probably the TF536 that I had in there before, but maybe with the updated CPLD firmware to allow the IDE to work)...

That booster (jab) is a right pain isn't it?
Pity about the other booster (TF536) though. Maybe wait for the Buffee?

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Aye, those are not the fun type of booster...JezC wrote: 05 Dec 2021 21:09 Spent much of the day trying to get my temperature down after the booster jab yesterday afternoon...so very little progress as a result.

Yes, much worse reaction than the first two jabs...temp is still high so it looks like I will be working from home today (not supposed to go in if the temp is over 38 degrees)stephen_usher wrote: 05 Dec 2021 22:28 That booster (jab) is a right pain isn't it?

I've got one built up TF536 & another birdseed board (needs the CPLD and RAM ordering) so I may make do with those for now...

Nope, but they might be more urgent given the recent variants!

Re: JezC H4 Build - in slow time
Ok, so having finally fitted the TRUDIE v5.2 onto my H4 (working well with HDDriver 11 7 TOS 1.04), I'm going to try and re-fit the TF536 to this system...
First problem is that the 27C4096 EPROM I've put in this H4 is the modified TOS 1.04 plus a special EmuTOS image to allow it to load EmuTOS from Floppy!
So, I need to put in a different EPROM with TOS 2.06 and/or EmuTOS before the TF536 will be able to boot...
Looks like I will have to dig out my "spare" Hitachi EPROMs, check at least one is blank & then program that up with a suitable image as soon as I can...
