Think they were the 38mhz STE booster prototypes. I want to get the SEC booster working with ultra fast ROM access in the H5 and STE. Just designing the new ROM board is yet another project I don't have time for :(

Yeah I don't use my STE without one these days. Its painful slow otherwise!
IIRC we did have that particular one running at 40Mhz but there were some problems with ACSI just not working, so we dropped it down to 32Mhz and all was fine :)

Gives the machine a nice boost.
Collector of many retro things!
800XL and 65XE both with Ultimate1MB,VBXL/XE & PokeyMax, SIDE3, SDrive Max, 2x 1010 cassette, 2x 1050 one with Happy mod, 3x 2600 Jr, 7800 and Lynx II
Approx 20 STs, including a 520 STM, 520 STFMs, 3x Mega ST, MSTE & 2x 32 Mhz boosted STEs
Plus the rest, totalling around 50 machines including a QL, 3x BBC Model B, Electron, Spectrums, ZX81 etc...

Yeah it had issues with acsi . likely those booster will be phased out soon in favour of the SEC booster. I need to get one plugged into a STE to try it.. At some point. Though not sure it will work out of the box without some firmware tweaks.

Always up for some testing if needed :)

Hoping to join the accelerated STE club at some point...just need the plastic fake CPU to try the plug-in booster in the first one, then when #2 & #3 (external Blitter) are repaired I might be in a position to help test too!

Give me a year or two to sort that out first....

To take a leaf out of the @exxos book

I'm a s/w engineer, so we are talking s/w engineering estimates!

The first 50 % of the project takes 80% of the time...the last 50% of the work takes the OTHER 80% of the time.
Then (when we finish the job) they change the spec (facepalm)

Surely usually the first 90% of the task takes 10% of the effort?
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

No, that's what the management think! We have what we regard as a more realistic view of things...but the project plans we submit always seem to be tweaked early on in the project planning phase to fit the end date sales have already promised to the customer.
:WTF:

Then they start to take some of the allocated resource from this project to put on the other project that is now "running late" because they changed the planned dates and stole resource off that project to try to catch up the previous one...
:sigh:

There is a reason my many engineers see the Dilbert cartoon as a frighteningly realistic parallel to how things operate in their company!
