stephen_usher wrote: 16 Nov 2021 14:17 Everything is. There's a lot of LOLpricing at the moment.

Case in point, someone trying to sell an Apricot F2, with keyboard (probably battery damaged), "mouse", definitely badly battery damaged, and monitor for £375. A few months ago I picked up an F2 with keyboard for less than £30 and a monitor for £30. Someone else picked up two motherboards and two case for about £30.

Just because things are old some people think that they're worth megabucks.
I just had a look on eBay and saw this. The box looks like it has seen some damp for sure, and the mouse sounds really nasty.

As for the popping sound when it was powered on.....

That's due to the car industry hoovering up all the parts.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

That'd be the RIFA in the power supply, nothing to worry about there.

They don't always smoke, just most of the time.
