Be interesting to see what happens when the Lumafix128 arrives in the UK. That's coming with DHL, so I wonder if that'll be faster into the country if it isn't using Royal Mail.
Yes, and despite all these new machines capable of handling tons of mail per hour that they claim to have in the sorting centres, everything seems to be worst than in the Middle Ages...

I deal a lot with DHL at work, and they can be fast as they can also be slow, depending on what they have to clear through customs.
I've always had had good experiences with DHL to be fair, but I probably don't use them as much as you do.

I certainly have to agree regarding the infrastructure that should be able to process all that mail, despite it services seem to be getting poorer all the time.

Woo hoo!!!

:girldance:

The Altair PCB and the Yellowstone are showing as down for delivery tomorrow :)

The other item I ordered more recently from the same place as the Altair is also moving, though still in the US :)

The LumafixC128 is with DHL but there are no updates, but it is at least shipped.

Looking forwards to getting the Altair finished thats for sure, and the Yellowstone will definitely enhance the Apple IIe and will mean I can do more than just use 5 1/4" floppy disks with it.

My other package that's on the way is one of these:

Screenshot 2024-03-10 at 12.00.38.png

It's a half size replica of the Kenbak-1 to go with the Altair :) Very much in the same vein, so fully functional but running on modern hardware. I'd like an Imsai & a PDP 8 or 11 replica, but I'll have to wait for those.

May be in October for my birthday. The PDP 8 replica is very interesting since it is really quite inexpensive compared to the Imsai.

Well happy days. My Altair part and the Yellowstone are down the road in the main mail centre in Chelmsford, so delivery tomorrow is looking promising.

The LumafixC128 is now moving within DHL and the uKenbak-1 looks to be moving within the US daily, so all seems to be good and my visit to parcel purgatory looks to be nearing the end :)

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Happy days indeed!!!

The Yellowstone arrived along with the missing PCB for the Altairduino:

And I have to say a big thanks to Chris over at Adwaterandstir, as he also dropped in a Nano Kenbak-1. I was not expecting that and it was a very nice surprise.

You can see it doing blinkenlights at the bottom :)

The uKenbak-1, the half size replica rather than the teeny Nano version I just received has now been notified to Royal Mail, so that should be here soon too :)

The LumafixC128 is now at Frankfurt from where it'll ship here :)

It's a good Monday so far and it's only just after 10:00.
