Ok so it would appear funkward tech doesn't have these in stock anymore, they still had 180+ rev6 rc60's a few days back.

looking around i found this other site that lists 68060 chips with the same funkward pictures:

but why should funkward sell these chips for a lower price in another sita that is not ebay?

From Ebay, the others were advertised as MC68060RC60 and the other ones were more cheeky as they were advertised as MC68060RC50 71E41J :D

Oh to live and learn. Hopefully there are no more lessons awaiting for me involving returning the items for refund. Perhaps I need to bite the bullet and buy expensive ones from Stachu.

I noticed that as well, no updates since March but he did say he was going to do a custom board to hold the fpga.

Hopefully a cheaper and more available alternative to Vampire2.

There are some other sources selling them in the states for about that amount, there shipping rates are pretty steep. I took the risk and bought one from funkward-tech today for about half that price, hopefully it is not a fake, if it is, it will be returned, the shipping was cheap so if I have to return there shouldn't be a big loss.

I think that 68040 is underrated. It can run up to 40mhz, some even 50mhz. It is enough for 99,5% of games. Doom, Hexen, etc works just fine with it. There is no fakes and they might be cheaper than 68030 CPUs. But still 4x more powerfull than it.

BUT it need to have both MMU and FPU, because there hasn't been any Amiga accelerator without them. Every app/library assumes that there is those, so accelerator without them would rule out all software targeted to 68040.
