@Smonson @exxos
The H4 did pass the diag cart timing checks, so you'd think that would be out as a suspect.
I'll try moving my finger round the pins, and I'll check the clock inputs on the Shifter, but I'd have thought that if they were wrong I'd have problems with the standard Shifter display, which I don't.
The board was working fine on another machine too, but I haven't rechecked it yet, so I'll also do that.
Once I've had a chance to look at all this I'll report back. I'll have to see what I can fit in this week as I have to go and visit my elderly parents next week. I may not be quick at getting stuff done.

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Re: RJ's Attempt. Maybe he's going to finish this time!
The point where I most suspect breaks in the data lines would be on the HDMI mod board itself. There's a 16-bit level shifter in the path of the bus where I have occasionally had to reflow a dodgy pin. I'm fairly sure the timing is OK since it's only a couple of lines affected and they don't appear to be displaying intermittent/random data. Hopefully they might only need to be reflowed.
I'm sorry about the quality control, I've just fired the guy who built that board AND the guy who checked it.

@Smonson @exxos
I tried moving my finger round the pins over lunchtime and nothing changed at all, still getting that stripey look.
I'll see what I can do about getting the adpater into another machine, see how it looks. It should fit either my test board (Who needs a working floppy to test video output anyway!) or my Mega4, which happens to have the lid off and a socketed shifter :)

@exxos @PhilC Well, maybe a job share?
Seriously, if I could have a job that paid as well as my current job and let me just do retro computer stuff, I'd be on it like a flash :)

It's the breaking that I like. Followed by the fixing of course
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
