Getting a little bit irritated with this netusbee. Was working fine with the H4 and now after the floppy HD addition H4 will not boot with netusbee connected. It appears the machine powered has changed slightly and the netusbee is pissed. Think I'll dedicate it to the falcon and be done with it. :x :shock: :?

Does sound like your netusbee is faulty, or simply is just not well designed & tested :roll:

Its my opinion that the interface design is marginal. It works best when used in a machine with a stock configuration but when additions come into play and the startup timing changes the thing screws up the boot. Guess I'll dedicate it to the falcon and use the Lightning for other machines. :roll:

I think the NetUSBee is highly marginal.

Full info about the original (not Lothrek version) are here: http://hardware.atari.org/files/netusbee.zip
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

OK, I'm emerging from the smoking pile of non-functional stuff.. :stars: I rebuilt a couple Gotek's with 2.14 and their new file manager. No joy with the H4. The stick that is setup i'm still able to access all the programmed floppies be it HD or not. New and old stick will not let me add additional floppies. I get the error shown below. So.. I moved back to the mega and everything works there with the same Gotek's and sticks. :o :shock: :? So I'm assuming it has something to do with the floppy HD addition. @kodak80 , have you tried to add a floppy image to your Gotek? Also I'm using @exxos 's IDE interface. So I guess I'll order the fixit board and replace the shorting straps. I really doubt that has anything to do with it. Also I'm going to try the UltraSatan. So other than adding new images the HD capability works great with my H4. Can mix HD and normal floppies no issues. Just can't add new images.

Also I've tried the 11.00 HDDriver and it appears to be slightly slower than the 10.18 driver (1350 vs 1450). Have turned on the glitter for transfers but no joy. Have to investigate if I have successfully installed 11.00.

With my Gotek, I have an OLED so do not use the HxC slots manager code on my USB sticks. I also know that the FlashFloppy indexes the floppy images with a 7 segment display so that you do not need the HxC slots manager tool.

Don't know what ya mean. If I have 100 disk images on the stick they don't show up with a number until I specify a file and assign it to a slot. They just don't show up because their on the stick. ...

My bad. You need a setting in FF>CFG:

Indexed mode

This mode is configured via FF.CFG: nav-mode = indexed.

FlashFloppy will switch between image names of the form DSKA0000*.*, DSKA0001*.*, and so on. Each image which will be automatically assigned to the corresponding numbered slot. Note that any supported image type can be used.

Note that an arbitrary filename is allowed after the DSKAnnnn prefix (eg. DSKA0000_myimage.img). Additionally, the DSKA prefix can be changed in FF.CFG (indexed-prefix=).
