huge amount of fixes and tweaks..

Then like I said a few posts up, you would have to read the entire remake section over the past year to understand all the changes it has had. Pretty much every part of the STF has been re-designed and various tweaks,fixes & optimizations applied.
EDIT:
I think a lot of people don't understand about the countless issues on the ST series. Not only is "age" a factor, but there has been serious bugs in the hardware since day 1, DMA for example. All which has been learnt over the years has been turned into fixes for the remake board.
But it gets worse for developers like myself as every PCB revision has its own issues. But even 2 otherwise identical motherboards can have different issues. Developing hardware is a nightmare to the point its just easier to stop spending time debugging crap motherboards all the time, and spend the time in developing a new motherboard with all the fixes from new.
