You couldn't make up this crap!

Yeah Google, you suspended my account AGAIN, that's why you detected a drop FFS!

Incidentally, I've just removed all the EU listings as its pretty pointless now anyway.

Something seems to have changed in the USA, needed more policy crap added etc. That's not helping either. Their postage options are a joke.

Postage is based on weight and destination, and since Google doesn't know even know weight... Operator is probably the closest, but how does google know what RM charge ? it doesn't know weight.. its stupid. They tried to over generalise postage options which just doesn't work.

Took the couple of small shelves down today and put up a rack instead to give me a bit extra space.

Regular members may remember me losing a spring out of my desoldering station while making a video servicing it a while back... well... I saw rolling across my bench what I think was the spring I lost, only it fell on the floor before I could grab it, so is basically lost again now!

Going back to my broken STE boards. Been thinking how I can speed up changing the simm sockets. Using the desoldering gun speeds things up a lot but it's still a chore doing one by one..

So thinking now, use my hot.plate to heat up all 4 sockets at once so I can just pull them out. The use the desoldering gun to suckup the solder . I can run the gun continuosly sucking up. But I think it will likely block up.

I have got another soldering station which can blow solder out of holes. It's a bit messy but gets the job done. I'd just need a plate of metall under the motherboard so the solder doesn't spit onto my hot plate... Likely the fastest and easiest way. Maybe I should video it... Might be almost interesting I suppose..

I've been looking at my Google merchant listings and they still up. I think the error I am seeing is for AdWords and AdSense or whatever it's called now. That error should not even be in the merchant account as it's totally different systems. So it's now confusing what error messages belong to what advert system as they seem to be mixing them up now. So now I don't know if that drop to zero listings is even accurate anymore. Of course there will be zero adverts as I've not paid for adverts for several years now. But my listings are still up. So both things can't be true :stars:

There's another issue now with USA listings. They need a return policy it seems now. It's also moaning about my postage times.. like I have ANY control over that at all. But it wants figures and wants low figures... So. Now what ? Lie I suppose or lose more listings ?!

Google have gone like ebay, they don't understand how the postal system works and wants the impossible. Give them that or get booted. Plus Google keep rejecting my logo.. The whole system is just a mess and broken now. It's rejected a load of my listings as they don't have a unit of measure it seems. It makes no sense. I'm not selling bottles of perfume. How's a keyring supposed to have a unit of measure ?! Convert it's wight into ml I suppose.

I'll fight the logo issue for a bit but I'm not wasting weeks of my life on all this crap anymore. It's like fighting Microsoft with all that email crap..just a pointless waste of time!

Back to my Google logo issue... Got this reply..

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Google Ads support . We will be happy to assist you.

We absolutely understand your frustration with the repeated disapprovals and the feeling that your legitimate branding isn't being recognized. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused.

Upon reviewing the account, we absolutely understand your frustration with the repeated disapproval and the feeling that your legitimate branding isn't being recognized. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience this has caused.

You're right, your logo does represent your brand, and we appreciate you showing us where it's actively used. The reason for the current rejection of the square logo is specifically related to its visibility at the smaller sizes required for various placements on Google (like mobile devices). While your logo is clearly recognizable at larger sizes, our system checks to ensure it remains clear and legible even at dimensions as small as 32x32 and 64x64 pixels.

Think of it like this: for the best possible presentation across all platforms, we need a version of your logo that is optimized for these smaller displays. Often, logos that work well at a larger scale might lose their clarity or become illegible when shrunk down significantly.

To get your logo approved, we recommend considering uploading a version of your square logo that is specifically designed or adapted to be clearly visible at these smaller sizes. This might involve a slightly simplified version or focusing on the core recognizable elements of your branding.

You may upload this optimized square logo by navigating to Merchant Center > Business information > Branding. The system requires a square image with a 1:1 aspect ratio and, if it's a PNG or JPG, dimensions between 500x500 and 2000x2000 pixels. SVG format is also highly recommended as it scales without loss of quality.

We want to get your branding correctly represented on Google. Please try uploading a square logo that meets these visibility requirements at smaller sizes. Once you've made the changes and resubmitted, the review process typically takes up to 7 business days.

For more information regarding the same you may refer to this helpful guide.

I hope the above given information is useful. If you have any further questions, feel free to reply back to this email and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for choosing Google Ads Support. We appreciate your relationship with us.
Okay so at first glance the minimum size is 500x500px.. But when they squash it down to 32x32 it doesn't show up probably.. But you can't upload 32x32 it has to be 500x500!

So they basically want a SVG file then... But why allow uploading of images when they are basically impossible to use :stars:

So now waiting to see if they accept the SVG version.. :ball:
