.... also a relic from a "forgotten time" MITSUBISHI MR535-U00. Can't remember what it came out of anymore. Might even work  I think I used it on the SUPRA drive and it worked, but was to big to fit in the case.

@alexh Crazy!!

I know I bought some old drives from USA a decade + ago, I know they cost £50 a pop plus post, 2 of them didn't even work. Cant remember if that drive came in that lot or I took it out of something else.. Why people want this stuff anymore is beyond me.

BUT, at least I reached my "side quest primary objective" of getting to my floppydrive stash to test them out (hopefully) tomorrow!

Hey, not so fast! :(

Maybe try posting to a HIFI electronics forum or something? This is not something Ive explored, but there must be someone (other than yourself) who would appreciate this sort of thing - even being very niche.

A whole bunch of my time to give stuff away ? No thanks. Plus every forum I've been on I get abuse. So again no. Last time I went on a fruit machine forum to see if anyone wanted some £200+ touchscreens cheap, they was new. People there ran arcades which the screens could be useful. Got sarcastic comments from admins why I'm trying to sell touchscreens on a fruit machine forum..and more sarcasm about me making donations to the forum before selling my stuff. I just binned them in the end. Couldn't be bothered anymore. People are just not worth the trouble. Even trying to give stuff away people complain. Then even worse, they act like THEY are doing ME the favour in me giving THEM stuff and act like I owe them one.. so again no.

I've dumped 4 or 5 bags of stuff so far. Mostly cables and wires, a lot new, but why spend all that time trying to find homes for all the stuff. Same with lots of things in general. Chucked all sorts away over the past few months. Some stuff might be useful but we learned our lesson years ago...people say they take stuff, never turn up or endless mess you about. Then some want me to drive miles to deliver them the stuff... Nope..

Selling stuff is no better. People only want the "too good to be true deals". Or they not interested. My dad had a saw table in his shed. It was like new. Listed it cheap and it sold quick. Now regret it. He also had a table saw which cost £400+. Like new, listed for £200. Nobody wanted it. Was offered £100 at one point but people just take the pi$$. So I don't generally bother anymore.

I binned all the 3D printer parts earlier. Probably £200 worth of bits. Someone said they wanted it, then changed their mind. So waste of a hour of my time again. £20 was really just for my time in packing the things up and posting. Thought earlier, just not worth the trouble. I've chucked away loads of new electronic parts previously.. I mean why bother to do anything else .

My cheap racks from TEMU arrived today. I got 3 racks because they only came with 5 shelves. Taken me all day to sort that out. Had to chuck a load of stuff, but just don't have room for it all.

Idea now is all the motherboards I use for various stuff can now sit on its own shelf. All my boards are damaged and need repair. A lot of boards are test boards for various kits.. They all just getting damaged. So this new rack will fit 2 boards on a shelf.. technical I can stack one on top of another if needs be.

Got my huge PCB oven I'm not sure what to do with. My old PCB UV box and tank went in the loft years ago. Nobody needs to make their own PCBs anymore. Kinda renders my PCB oven obsolete as well. I just don't have time or health to do big assembly jobs anymore. I'd consider selling for the right price...

Anyway, Giving hands a rest tomorrow. Then Thursday I plan to start testing my 720k drive stock and get them in the store.

I've also been half thinking of taking the mice off sale and just servicing them myself for sale in my store.. I'd get more for them..But takes time , and time I never have enough of

Fixing up the mice is a good idea, been on the lookout for one for a while but they are generally overpriced- not paying 50 quid for something untested which probably doesn't even work! At least if you have some refurbs we know they'll work :)

And don't get so down, yes, people can be dicks but a lot of them are actually tolerable :)

Yeah i've seen those as well, even ones for parts for like £60+ , madness. I'd change the switches, clean them up, probably sell for £35 maybe. Just depends how longer they take and how much time I have etc
but a lot of them are actually tolerable :)
A lot say that about me ;)

Google has gone on a rampage removing my listings and stuff now.. It's just more nonsense from them to deal with... Only I am not dealing with it anymore. No point when they keep changing stuff and their system is just simply broken anyway! Its like ebay all over again, I can't fix THEIR broken system and shouldn't be expected to! Plus the logo has been there for literally years!!

I generally depend on "word of mouth" from people on platforms mentioning my store (thanks! to those who give my store a mention!) which drives customers my way. I get very little from google anyway these days. It's just massive amounts of unpaid work these days. I'm just not jumping though endless broken hoops with never any end in sight. I have better things to do with my time thanks google!
