DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
New plan.
Where the linear rails are going horizontal at the moment, I'm going to fit some 20x20 extrusions in a similar location but also the front as well. So there will be three horizontal cross members bolted onto the actual frame size as opposed to seesawing in the centre.
The whole bed assembly will be of course 20mm higher. It really does not matter as I can adjust the Z end-stop anyway.
I have managed to find some 400mm 20mm linear rails and ordered them. Got to wait a few days though :( The rails will be bolted on top of the 20mm extrusions so will be a lot more solid and rigid and level!!

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
I have put the BX back in the spare bedroom as I do not expect any of my parts to come this week.
So I have connected up old faithful to have another bash at it  IIRC the motors were not running smoothly but I think there was a workaround to this to adjust the steps on the controller board.

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
Well this has been a great start, not. I know I was fiddling with the firmware but the board appears to be running..But nothing can connect to the board. It is like the USB cable is not even been. And I have change the cables and port on the computer.. Just nothing at all.. :headbang:
Now I am basically at the point that I need a new board again :pullhair:

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
Does anyone know how to save the current firmware loaded into a STM chip on a 3-D printer motherboard ?
If I compile a firmware and put it on the SD card, says the old firmware as "FIRMWARE.CUR" , So I can get at it that way. But I would be happier if I could just save the current firmware BEFORE re-flashing the thing.

It depends on whether the protection fuse is set on the device, it's not possible if it is.
But basically you need to hook up an st/link 2 device (cheap on ebay) to the SWD pins, you can then use the st/link utility to save the memory contents once you've 'connected to the device. It only saves whatever was last uploaded, so not the full flash.

Re: exxos blog - random goings on
New printer board come! Same problem :pullhair: Long story short, seems the cable I was using might have been for my new Noise cancelling headphones basically the charger cable  Which obviously does not have data connection  So no idea where the original cable went, but now I have a new cable board is now recognised on the PC  So that was a rather expensive lesson I guess  All these types of cables and amount of variations of them all is madness  :stars: :pullhair: :headbang:
Anyway.. Back in business with a very quiet smooth running motor!

I don't think this is a random goings on thread any more. You should rename to '200 pages of 3D print stress' lol

Yeah. I did wonder if I should have started a new blog on printer stuff  :roll:Steve wrote: 02 Feb 2022 23:57 I don't think this is a random goings on thread any more. You should rename to '200 pages of 3D print stress' lol
My new 20mm extrusions came today for the BX printer.. Need the rails to turn up next..
Might get the FF to actually print something soon
Edit:
I did cut my heel open with the STE motherboard I was messing with last week. Not sure it's news worthy though
