EDIT:
A shorter bottom section might work

Anyway, I need to add a big square on top somehow to fit the stepper motor to... hmm....

I still find myself using Tinkercad for everything, because of a fatal combination of it actually doing things fairly well and me wanting to actually get something done each time I need a model, thus never taking the time to learn another platform.
Ah, now I know why it didn't look familiar. Windows only.
Is tinkercad the one which has a lib of parts like nuts etc ? I might have used it once..derkom wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 11:14 am Ah, now I know why it didn't look familiar. Windows only.
Yeah, I've played a bit with Fusion 360 and it's ... a bit much. I've looked a little bit at Blender (also a bit much), FreeCAD, and OpenSCAD, but I keep ending up back on Tinkercad, because despite being the entry level product, and despite lacking important features, like a proper export, it's actually really good at what it does.
Yeah, and fully web-based, which is both a blessing and a curse. It's really nice to be able to just fire up a browser on any device and log in and have all my projects right there, but the downside of course is that connectivity is required, and also all your objects (in editable form) are in their possession, not yours. It'll export STLs, etc., but nothing that can be edited, except as a whole piece.exxos wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 11:19 am Is tinkercad the one which has a lib of parts like nuts etc ? Lie it flat on the bed then you shouldn't need any supports. The syringe hole should print fine.
That's a good idea.. glad I thought of that!Icky wrote: Thu Mar 18, 2021 12:21 pm Lie it flat on the bed then you shouldn't need any supports. The syringe hole should print fine.
