DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

My dad did buy a expensive DAC, but I wanted one with tone controls on it as mostly I use headphones and need a bit of tweaking..

So I should be able to go optical out from the SACD player to this DAC unit..
It probably won't work with the SACD layers. SACD is limited to analogue or HDMI out. They can't pass DSD via SPDIF/TOSlink and the DAC needs to be able to decode DSD too. Some players can convert DSD to PCM via HDMI (like my Oppo) but I'm not aware of any that can do that via SPDIF etc. Only the 44.1khz CD layer of SACD can be played back PCM. It is in part a copy protection mechanism.

I'll be interested to see if this works.

Ah yep I never thought about the data stream, I half assumed the optical out was decoded data, else the port would be almost useless otherwise

On an SACD player the digital ports are pretty useless, its used for DTS, DD and PCM. I have a Pioneer 676a with six analogue cables to a Marantz SR4500 with discreet AC3 inputs. Gen 1 SACD, works a treat. A hacked PS3 is another option, but they are rarer than rocking horse droppings.

Sounds like I'll have to use the rca outputs and do some hacking on the box to tap into the analogue side of things  the DAC is probably a bit rubbish anyway  I'll rip it out and solder some rca sockets on it

Its a bit of a odd shape all over the place, so using supports on this print.
