PaulJ wrote: 01 Mar 2020 23:41 @exxos , I'm not sure there was any confusion concerning your development IDE boards. They work great and have an additional feature where they provide the $e00000/$0000 decode signal. I'm not sure anyone expected more. As far as the driver 11.0 is concerned the glitter enhancement is ~5% on the Lightning card which is not detectable sitting there waiting for the test to complete. Just a novelty giving it a try. So I haven't seen anyone saying they expected more from the IDE card. Even if the IDE didn't function the card is an asset in that its a easy way to get a $e00000/$fc0000/$0000 decode signal. I was interested in obtaining your latest version because its foot print was changed to miss the case support on a mega. The two I have work great and are in constant use and provide all the functionality I require. :D :D :D :D
I'm with @PaulJ here too, the HDDRIVER Blitter on/off test results with XFRRATE were weird, but in reality the difference in use was imperceptible, so my feeling is that it is a non problem. It's also as much about the on board TOS 2.06/1.04 capability, so to have that and IDE is spot on.

TBH I'm the sort of person who will try stuff out to see what happens, but at the end of the day I always knew it was a beta dev board. Performance with or without Blitter help is more than good enough for what I want.

Mine both work great, and since I did the SIL upgrades on both Megas, I have no problems working with the floppy at the same time. Like Paul I'm after the smaller footprint boards, as I don't really want to chop the case support leg on either Mega.

Even if Trudie doesn't appear, having those smaller boards will be just right for what I need, and I'll certainly be ordering at least 2 when they arrive.

Keep up the good work, it all makes Atari life better :)

Received these in the post today along with many other boards @exxos and I have been waiting for from China. This is @exxos' revision to reduce the size of the board down.

I'll start building one up and see how long it takes to build.

Icky, assume it will take approximately the same time as the previous versions.. :) :) :) If I recall correctly @exxos said he was putting them in the store as a kit, assume the board and a ATF1504. Do you know if the the lead pitch on the IDE is for the 40 or 44 pin?

@PaulJ - Until I build and test one we won't know what may be needed to get it to work. I'll update on here as we get this puppy working.

That said @exxos did a brilliant job shrinking this down. Right hand sides of boards are aligned in the photo.

Oh wow , that Is a lot smaller than I thought...

PCB is slightly different, so you will need a firmware tweak, as I said earlier and in my blog, I am trying to get the code to work in a 1504...

Is this how we get @rubber_jonnie to finish his projects. Hold him to ransom on the next Atari kit he wants :)

I like your logic @exxos

@Icky, I think it only fair that @rubber_jonnie not be allowed to go shooting or beat up any his little gun-fun buddies until he finishes his H4. And definitely no new toys until it's running.
:smackbum:

@exxos , looks likes its going to get a great fit in a mega with the reduced size. Actual be able to put the lids on my mega's not that the machines are even aware they have lids. I'll signup up for 2. :) :) :)

:thanksyellow:
