I believe we should crown Icky as the label King. By the way Icky what kind of label maker are you using? I have about 10 combinations of TOS roms kicking around with no labels. Could really use a nice label maker..

Everything in Ickys house has a label apparently, now he seems to be expanding his territory
I wonder if he's labelled his wife and daughter yet?
Phil, you need to come up with a caricature to put on your labels.

Label maker is Brother QL-800 prints in Black and Red with some label reels. I have found that the 12mm labels are the perfect size to print off the ROM labels. The 29mm ones for the ATF chip.

re: wife and daughter - that is a line I won't cross. I value my life.

But if we are talking about expanding territory - I think we need a section on the forum for labels and I can put all my label templates on there :D

kodak80 wrote: 11 Apr 2019 04:21 I had the same issue recently with my ROM programmer and the PLCC to DIL adapters. The connections from the DIL pins have 2 pins wired to NC pins on the PLCC socket!

You need a couple of bodge wires to connect the PLCC socket pins together:

PLCC pins 12 and 13 need connecting together and pins 33 and 34 need connecting.

Once I made these changes I was able to program 27c4096 PLCC chips.
Thanks Kodak, that was exactly what the problem was. All working great now.
I also had exactly the same issue with my PLCC to DIL adapter. Just in case I did spend the time buzzing it all out, but ultimately had the same conclusion, and after fixing mine it works fine and I can read ROMs fine. I still have to test programming one, however I strongly suspect all will be well now.

Since I have at least 4 other DIL to some other type of socket adapter, I will check their pinouts too, see if they need 'adjusting' too.

EDIT: Writing works fine, so happy days :)

Ok, tried compact flash and a 3.5 inch drive. Updated drivers to the latest as you recommended for Phil. Same results for everything, driver starts on boot and says no device for all it scans however it takes longer side 0,0. Both 1.04 and 2.06 work good. Tried both. Also have looked over the board for issues finding none. So I have some questions.

1. Does the led work? Mine never lights.

2. I can I get a schematic so I can put the ohm meter to work?

3. Any words of wisdom?

Regards
Paul

Led works yes. I will post the diagram tomorrow... Unless icky is still on line...

Did you do the wire patches ? Got the correct resistors and caps on the select io ports ? Wired power to your ide device ?

I would involve myself but it would end up being the longest Beta test in history

Will this board see production for the store or is it be incorporated into the STF remake?

Cheers
