DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Well that's just annoying, the Reuters monitor is just about working, very nearly. I managed to tweak all the adjusters but the horizontal amp variable inductor as it's now jammed and broken.
So I've got to try and track one of those down with no idea what to get as the existing one has no markings on it whatsoever.
Does anyone have any experience with sourcing replacements? I'll post a pic a little later on.

I've a couple in an old telly I could do with replacing... and again, no markings. *sigh*
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I think with the heat old electronics makes the grease on the adjusters turned into glue.stephen_usher wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 4:24 pm I've a couple in an old telly I could do with replacing... and again, no markings. *sigh*

And the plastics just get extremely brittle too, so the threads disintegrate.PhilC wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 5:47 pmI think with the heat old electronics makes the grease on the adjusters turned into glue.stephen_usher wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 4:24 pm I've a couple in an old telly I could do with replacing... and again, no markings. *sigh*

Re: PhilCs blog / the latest things hes broken(fixed)
Was just wondering Phil, the Reuters monitor is very likely a rebadged unit.
Perhaps finding the actual manufacturer may open the options for finding a service manual with the pertinent information?
I think my one even had the same model no. between the Reuters and the OEM manufacturer.

Re: PhilCs blog / the latest things hes broken(fixed)
@mrbombermillzy it does have the proper manufacturer details on the back, K.G.M. Electronics LTD but all I could find was the companies house details and the details of the company closing.
I think ax soon as I can solve the horizontal size issue with another variable inductor I'll be sorted.
I've managed to get the old ferrite screw out and hopefully found a couple of new ones on eBay, so hoping I can get it working and glue the whole thing back together once it is.

Re: PhilCs blog / the latest things hes broken(fixed)
So while I wait for the ferrite screws to arrive I thought I'd get one of my old keyboards out to play. I've had it since it was nearly new. Only to find out the battery backed up memory wanted changing, not bad though for thirty years
That's changed, fixed a couple of sticky keys and gave it a quick look over and loaded up the default patches.
Look and plays much better now.

Ah! The Kawai K4!
I almost bought one of those as my first synth. (Well the K4R).
I ended up with a TG-55, which was Yamahas close effort.
You'll have to bring it to the next CL.
We can definitely do a HIFI/Synth corner!
