Thought there was a DOS version ? Or maybe it was in Qbasic...PhilC wrote: 27 Jun 2019 21:12 I think I'd need to download 3 million windows 3.1 installation disks on 360k floppy first though right?

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

I'm going to dig out a copy of commander keene over the weekend.
It'd be pretty easy to make a modern version of this board now, 1 NEC V30, a CPLD and a few caps and diodes.

Bit quiet on my blog lately thanks to real life getting in the way.
Thanks to exxos, been working on his VGA adaptor today. I did have two of the UBESwitch ones before and although they have more features I found them a little too fragile. I'd managed to break off the button on both and the headphone socket on another.
Granted, I was plugging it in and out quite frequently, so this didnt help.
Exxos has designed an adaptor that uses some through hole components and a simple jumper for mono / colour selection. This will make for a simpler, cheaper and more robust VGA adaptor.
Here's the nearly finished article, minus the headphone socket as I need to desolder one from an old radio on the shelf behind me.
The other difference between the UBE version and this one is that exxos has done away with the 3 RGB adjustment pots, which were a bit of a pain to get right. Instead exxos has used 3 voltage dividers to control the monitor brightness, ghosting, etc.
My job today has been to try a few different variations for the voltage dividers and hopefully we are somewhere near now.
Have a look below, not too shabby on my old NEC if I do say so myself.

Yeah the pots (now resistors) were set as high of brightness as I could get them before I got odd colour bleeding/ghosting issues. It was to much of a pain to adjust them anyway.

New design looks good. The old one hide the floppy connector when it was used with a mega. Nice design!! :) :) :)

Cool, thanks. Do you have a plan for a case yet? Btw, angled headers seem to work pretty well for the mono / colour jumper but might find a toggle switch that fits too.exxos wrote: 02 Aug 2019 22:07 :bravo:

No plans to do a case. Not even finished the RTC case yet :)PhilC wrote: 02 Aug 2019 22:47 Cool, thanks. Do you have a plan for a case yet? Btw, angled headers seem to work pretty well for the mono / colour jumper but might find a toggle switch that fits too.

Ok, might add it to my list. Pink to match your monitor?
