I would have a look at the electrolytic caps in the internal part of the PSU, obviously there's not much to be done with the external AC part of the PSU. Mine were a mess and had to be replaced.
When I was in the RAF, the preferred tool for percussive maintenance was a black and yellow safety torch, which became known later as the 'Black and yellow light emitting Bentley', the last part being the name of a particular tech who had a fondness for using it.
