I think it's one or two bits that have died on it. Eproms that are blank its saying they aren't and is failing to write correctly, just writing garbage.

have you tried a different USB cable ? cheaper ones tend to screw up on all sorts of stuff especially when USB is used for power.

@PhilC I just realised you said you updated it, but if I recall there is a way to reflash the firmware, does rely on some disassembly and a bit of soldering though, and if I recall correctly a PickIt to do the programming.

It's how I upgraded my original TL866 to add functionality.

@rubber_jonnie it was like it before and after the update and has been getting progressively worse.

I'll order another one from Amazon and see how we go I think but thanks for the suggestions.

Just a note of trouble I have a tl866 ii and have had to replace some of the capacitors in it shorted and cause all sorts of random problems

So I had a few extra bits and pieces laying around and decided if I could get them all playing nice together with the H4.

That was until my eprom programmer packed up, so I couldn't burn a copy of Emutos to get it all up and running.

It passes all the Ram tests etc with Diagrom though, so hopefully when the new programmer arrives today I can get it running.
