Latest update,

I've tried the latest JED files but the board still doesn't boot.
I've got some cache ram, which is now soldered underneath the eproms for when we are ready to use them.

the ATF22's are not compatible with the GAL20V8B at least not softwarewise anyway but they are pin compatible.

I have ordered some more GALS but unfortunately they on't be arriving very quickly.

Do I have the socket soldered in the right place for the CPU? as this was one mistake I made with the PAK2.

The 64pin sockets (up and down) are in the right place.
Let's try with the 68000 on top again, removing the GALs step by step. With U3 still removed, connect with short wires:
U3 pin9 to U3 pin19
U3 pin11 to U3 pin14
U3 pin12 to U3 pin15
Jumpers J5 and J6 both open
Assemble the 68000 on top, and try to boot..

Ok, tried the above, the board wont boot. I presume you wanted me to remove the Gals one at a time and see if it booted without it ?

Next: Remove all GALs and all ROMs.
The only ICs on the board are now: 68030, FPU, 74F74 and the 68000 on top.
SRAMs may stay in place if soldered.
Connect on the empty socket U5 pin8 with pin12.
Connect on the empty socket U1 pin17 with pin24.
Try to boot..

Ok, now the other way round:
Remove the U3 jumper wires, and assemble GAL U3 instead. With jumpers J5 and J6 off, try to boot.

Yes that works too, I'm using an ATF16V8CZ-15PU for U3 now
