So far today, replaced CPU socket and found a broken bodge wire that was ocasionally making contact, hence confusing the hell out of me.
So now I can properly concentrate on finding why my floppy doesn't work
Edit 1
Ok, so now the STF boots to TOS, sees the floppy but won't read or format it. I get 4 bombs generally when trying to boot to a floppy.
When I boot up the diag rom it passes ram, etc. It will do track seeks and speed tests on the floppy but not format it. I get error E9 when I try to format.
So now a couple of steps forward, which is cool.

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Re: Forgottenmyname - Progress
Well, that was an interesting and probably the end of my STF project, at least part one anyway.
Last night had a power cut whilst I was playing with the STF, scope, etc. Powered it back up and no display, burning smell, etc....
I don't think it's the PSU as that's outputting all the right voltages but now my STF is dead.... hopefully not permanently.
Guess the luck exxos wished me back fired, LOL.
Still, I shall look on as you guys work on your STF's and will wait patiently for Part two / mongrel board.
Now off to see why one of my Mega's doesn't work properly too after last night.

LOL, yes I did have a donor card filled out.
I'll pop the chips one by one in another ST and see what happens. Hopefully its something daft like a transistor on the RGB circuit, as there's no output but the shifter is generating 16mhz etc still.

Re: Forgottenmyname - Progress
That is bad luck. Are you trying to out do me on the PSU failures / issues? I think I racked up 3 last month. Biggest one being my PC PSU which just went dead overnight. Not a small unit either Corsair RM850.
Lets hope you can salvage something out of the board i.e. its an easy fix.

And the not so amusing thing is that my "best" Mega 4 now has the same issue that the STF had, it won't read from floppy without 4 bombs.
