Before I got my first Ampex iron in the mid/late 80s the only iron I had access to was my Dad’s which was only slightly smaller than the one shown in the first demonstration. You can see why I didn’t do any electronics then can’t you?
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I say, steady on old chap, thats a bit cheeky :)

I may have had 'incidents' that resulted in pain, injury and scorching, but I never did that. At least not deliberately...

I think Mr Carlson would like that video :)

@JezC

Quite a caustic statement...

Our friend @rubber_jonnie has to tell us whether that's true.

I don't deny there have been scorchings, but I'm not the only one. These are dangerous tools, but I deny (Mostly) anything close to that picture :)

I burnt the back of my thumb the other day while desoldering chips . It's almost healed up now though. So not really picture worthy any more :lol:
