Have you tried to squeeze 15KHz down that VGA input yet? You never know.

Re: Stuff and Things.
As it goes, I tried it on the one I already have and it doesn't work, but it's fine as I have a couple of NECs (1970NX and 1990FXp) that do 15Khz very nicely.alexh wrote: Fri Mar 03, 2023 3:21 pm Have you tried to squeeze 15KHz down that VGA input yet? You never know.
However, I will try when I collect this one, you never know as it isn't quite the same model.

Re: Stuff and Things.
So glad I read this thread.
I'm thinking that I need to install a TOS switcher in my new STE which has 2.06 installed. I've only had an ST up to now so was a bit annoyed when I hit my first compatibility problem, but 2.06 seems 'shiny'.
I'd have been gutted if I'd drilled a hole in the case when I could have drilled the Gotek instead. I might never have thought of that

Re: Stuff and Things.
We had a bit down in Oxford yesterday but it soon melted and the snow changed to horrid sleet.
It's just wet/drizzly this morning here.
I didn't think that you lived up Liverpool way. Didn't you use to live in Kent of something?

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

This is at my parents house, up here this week getting some stuff sorted out. Had valuations, clearance quotes and had Dads car removed.stephen_usher wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 10:34 am

Re: Stuff and Things.
Being up in the Wirral last week, I was able to collect some of the stuff there during out tidy up;
Going left to right: A Sangamo Weston Euro Meter & accessory (A light meter for photography), a Davis of Derby Ohmmeter (Ministry certified no less!!!) and a Thorens TD125 MkII record deck.
All fell silent over the years in as much as they were working, but Dad stopped using them. Also in the haul was a Quad 33/303 pre amp/amp combo, a Yamaha cassette deck and a Sugden FM tuner, but they are currently packed away as I don't have the room inside.
The record deck feels quite fragile so that is inside, and the other items are small enough to go on a shelf.
There were also a couple of AR7 speakers, but I pulled the grille off one of them and the cones had disintegrated. I may pick them up next visit, as the cabinets are in good order, but for now they stay there a bit longer.
It's nice to have these things as a remembrance, but it's also odd that now my parents have gone, I feel no attachment to the house, despite being born there. Also, there is the concept of 'going home', as in going to my parents house, but going home, as going to my current home. Aren't brains odd things.
Now they are gone, it really doesn't feel like home.

That turntable has a very 1970s design hasn't it?

Re: Stuff and Things.
The TD 125 models were around 1968 to 1975, so it's no surprise
Good guesstimate on your part sir.
