A1200 + TF1260 - OS + MMuLibs

Post by Saitan999 »

Hello,

sorry for noob post in the first place..

I have bought an A1200 and TF 1260, it came out that there is a Cloanto WB 3.1 on a CF card and the system crashes on booting..

..so I visited http://tf1260.com/ and tried to make a clean install of the https://wordpress.hertell.nu/files/WB31Clean.zip , BUT when I tried to unpack the ISO in WIN 10, it said that the file format is wrong.. (used the Power ISO..)...

..so now I wonder what options I have left to make the system working...

..I want just the A1200 + TF 1260 and a simple OS on CF for mostly demos and a few games..

..even buying the OS 3.5 or 3.9 is an option for me.. (tried to patch the SetPatch on the current CF via MorphOS, but it did not work... the installer of the MMULib said theSetpatch is too old...)

Thank you!

V. V.

Its not an iso. its a hard disk image in the zip file. Use a disk image writer like winimage.

Hello, I unzipped the archive and tried to open the disk image with the WinImage and the result was same like before when using the Power ISO...

Now I am not sure what to do and how to get a basic WB with MMuLibs to a CF drive to get my Terriblefire 1260 working.. I mean I dont know where to get the files - in WinUAE maybe?

Or is there a way to patch the OS I already have - the Cloanto WB 3.1?

Would you please help me with this?

You need to choose "Restore Virtual Hard Disk Image On Physical Drive" From the "Disk" menu in WinImage not "Open" from the "File" menu.

You also need to be running WinImage as Administrator in order for the USB devices to be shown in full.

1. Plug in your USB SD/CF card reader/writer with blank SD/CF media inserted.
2. Right click your WinImage icon, select "Run as administrator".
3. Choose "Restore Virtual Hard Disk Image On Physical Drive" From the "Disk" menu.
4. Choose the correct physical drive from the list of options shown.
4b. Pick the image file from the file open dialog. Might need to select "all files" from extension filter for it to show up.
5. "OK".
6. Wait until the write operation is complete.
7. Close WinImage
8. Eject USB media from the tray icon.
9. Insert SD/CF media with written image into machine CF/SD to IDE adapter.
10. Power on.
11. Behold the awesome power of a 68060 powered Amiga! :)

You might also take a look on the hardware side of things.
Means the mentioned (at http://tf1260.com/ ) E123C and E125C should be removed, if populated.

Also E121C and E122C should not be in there (weren't in my A1200 Rev. 1D.1).

When I bought my A1200 with TF1260, it crashed right after some clicks and/or window handling in Workbench.
Without these caps it's rock solid for what I can tell so far.
