Well that's another 16 hour work day done. I'm about 5x 22V10s short well I have about 30 of them but they malfunction in the booster. I've wrote pages on all these GAL troubles before though. I've ordered some from random places in nope some will work.

Need to print out loads more spacers yet. Will do that tomorrow and start testing the CPUs which failed at 32mhz and test at stock speeds. I think they will all test fine. Not many were compleatly dead.

Anyway, likely be almost 100 STE boosters done soon. I'm don't with those things now. Take up way to much time. Hopefully I can rest up a bit next week and maybe do a bit more routing on the 030 STE booster afterwards.

4 GALs short But just found some in the " crap I got from China but not specifically put anywhere yet or tested box". First one out of the box failed so that's a promising start

I must have gone through around 50 GALs now and only 1 works in the STE booster

I had a little bit of the play around and it seems the GALs do not process the 8MHz signal fast enough. If I inverted the 8MHz then it would work but the scores would be only half what they are supposed to be. So I inverted the clock and run it through 2 internal inverters. So the before and after results are below. Not much between them really. Oddly integer division is higher in that test

I guess that's the problem when pushing things right to the limits. Only the "cream of the crop" GALs work like that. Though I think all these ones from China are probably re-stamped 25ns GALs as I have seen that before in the past. I could test ,but really cannot be bothered. As I have done all this sort of testing before anyway. All the genuine 7ns GALs I purchased a few years back or work perfectly fine. If I remember rightly even 10ns and 15ns worked. So maybe all the China ones are just simply way out of spec or factory rejects or something.

In hindsight, I should probably have just accepted the 2% performance loss and just not bothered so much messing around with all the GALs

These CPUs failed at 32MHz in the STE boosters In fact some "did run" at 32MHz but after heating them up failed anyway.

@Bikerbob seems to be the first one to notice the H5 floppy holes are not correct. So designed a new spacer and just waiting for it to print.

May take a few attempts to get the profile set up as the part is so small.

PCBWAY drama continues. When I sent them header strips for Trudie IDE, is of course one thing missing on the connector and I totally forgot to remove it So basically another £35 to just pull out a pin I dread to think what the cost in total is of all this chaos.

What annoys me as well, While it is great they are checking orientation of parts etc, I send them assembly instructions and pictures right from the start when I uploaded the gerbers etc. The amount of times I'm having to repeat information is just madness

Also accidentally clicked login to PayPal instead of checking out as a guest.Fond memories I guess.. I argued this with them as I requested my information to be removed and they refused saying they are not breaking any laws in keeping my information even though I have specifically asked them to remove it

Still experimenting with settings. I can print a single one out and It looks almost perfect. Problem seems to stem from printing two or more at the same time. I end up with a "z-seam" when printing 2. It is only slight but it is when the head moves between the two it leaves the seam. I have experimented with just about everything and it does not really make sense why it happens. Currently I have it moving upwards as it travels because I think the head was catching the outer walls as it moved. This does seem to have helped a lot. Experimenting with retraction settings and various speeds does not really seem to help.

Amazingly I have pretty much emptied a entire reel printing out floppy support posts
