Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

@PhilC I'm honestly not surprised, I've seen a few long legs like that on both my Megas, and straightened a few along the way. The quality of these machines is certainly low.

Glad you found it nice and quickly, and another case of mechanical problems causing electronic chaos.

Approx 20 STs, including a 520 STM, 520 STFMs, 3x Mega ST, MSTE & 2x 32 Mhz boosted STEs
Plus the rest, totalling around 50 machines including a QL, 3x BBC Model B, Electron, Spectrums, ZX81 etc...

@rubber_jonnie it gave me the excuse to clean up a few other dirty looking soldered joints whilst I was at it, sows worth the effort.

But as you say quality is lacking on Megas. Wonder if they were made at different assembly line?

@PhilC Makes you wonder if they were all made on a Friday.

It's a bit weird, the Mega 1 I have seems to be much better quality than the Mega 4.

Glad you have both sorted the problems with your respective Megas...hoping that my Mega 4 doesn't decide to develop any of these annoying quirks anytime soon!

Thanks - managed to fire up my Falcon to test Monkey Island 2 so I need to test the spare 4M RAM cad I bought for the second H4 at some point.

Still waiting on some other shortages before I can build the first one even :( though even when they arrive, I'm sure there will be something else I am still missing...

Just make sure to seal the case on your Mega 4 now & use that upgrade on your Mega 1 instead! :D

Yeah, that memory upgrade is looking like it's destined for the Mega 1.

I came back a few hours later and it was a happy bunny.

Today has been a good day :)
