TF330 and 128MB RAM

Post by Karl »

I found this on the internet:

"This 128mb TF330 has the the first 64mb of ram auto configurable and the second 64mb is added using the
Addmem from Aminet with the range 41000000 TO 44FFFFFF"

This can't be right, can it?

I just built a few TF330 just for my recently purchased CD32, and used ISSI IS42S16320F-6TL SDRAM for them. The boards work great with that RAM, but of course only 64MB available. I bought those 512Mb ICs because they were easier to find and also cheaper where I live.
Yesterday when playing with my CD32(It has been almost 30 years since I used an Amiga), I came across a game that actually need 100MB RAM, so now I'm looking to add the remaining 64MB.

Is there a FW or any other way of getting the full 128MB working? I haven't tried the above AddMem hack yet...

No the logic is not there in the standard TF330 firmware for 128Mb.

There is a firmware that can do this. TBH i was waiting to completely nail all the TF1230 issues before releasing it.

I believe @go0se may have one that would work in the meantime.

Thats great news! I'm in no hurry. I gladly wait for the updated FW.

I'm also interested in the TF360. I know it's hard to find 060 CPUs nowadays. Here in China where I live, they still sell some for their gold content... It just breaks my heart to see that.
Once I have a way to test 060 CPUs, I'll try to salvage as many as I can. They also sell fakes here of course, but probably not to the same extent as for exporting. It can get their online stores closed if they do. Payment is in escrow until product is verified, and shipping is fast and very cheap for returns.

There is a backlog right now.

TF1230 needs a few tweaks.
TF330 needs updating after that.
TF1260 FW rewrite is in progress. I need to make it work when you change frequency.
TF360 will use the FW rewrite.
TF4060 was working perfectly for me but not Chucky. Including full DMA to FastRAM from SCSI controllers. So i need to tweak again.

EDIT: I've been slowed down massively by the house move. I cannot find anything anymore.
