I wouldn't qualify £100 for a loose Editor Assembler, just as "a lot". Seems more like absolutely crazy to me :)

If that's the price for the Assembler Editor, how much goes something like MAC65, or the original SDX. I can't even image current prices for the highest sought items, like Alley Cat fully boxed. Probably many thousands?

I can certainly understand that for something like Devpac or Lattice C. But this Assembler is very rudimentary. Not many people are going to actually use it nowadays. Even back in the day there were much better options.

Yep £100 is a lot for something that is generally poorly regarded, but that seems to be what the market demanded. As I said, half that now, but I have seen the likes of MAC65 go for in the hundreds of pounds. Saying 'go' is not quite right, I have seen them for sale at that, wether or not they sold is another thing entirely.

eBay has an original Mac65 cart starting bit around £73 and an OSS 4 in 1 modern remake (Includes Mac65) is starting at around £44.

eBay can be a funny old place.

OK, so I have now managed to source an 850 from Canada. The price was actually really good, less than £60 shipped.

Fingers crossed it'll turn up :)

If you aren't in a hurry. I go over to the states fairly often. But so far I'm not back till August. Ill be in Canada as well. so if you can find a cheap one there i could stick it in the bag on the way back. then post it on. Im assuming its not some huge weighty thing.

Thanks so much for the offer it's very much appreciated, but I have bought one from eBay and hopefully it will get shipped.

If that changes I'll let you know 👍

EDIT - Cool, it's been shipped, though arrival date is early March apparently!!! At least it has tracking.

no worries. I wonder if theres anything else thats unobtanium here but relatively cheap in the states.. normally its modern stuff i take back, my last 10 yrs worth of PC bits other than the screen, case and keyboards have came via microcenter over there.. used to be sooo cheap.. shame the memory and GPU's has got so insane.. still cheaper than here probably.

I'm sure there's plenty thats for sure. A lot of 8bit Atari stuff is easily had over there, stuff like the 5200 and 1200XL are just unobtainium here but definitely to be had in the states.
