They were made by Violet ( I bought mine in the mid-late noughties IIRC) but when they went bust, the servers went offline & all the rabbits went to sleep.

There are replacement options for the server to make these cute chappies wake up and interact to varying degrees so I'm adding this to my to-do list (with no expected date to do it at the moment)...

More on this later - but I'd be interested to hear if anyone else on the forum has one and explored the server alternatives!

I have too a now yellowing/orangeing Nabaztag v2 sitting on a closet.
I didn't run it for too long directly with the Violet servers, I moved to a local server as soon as I could. I think it was OpenJabNab the software I mostly used.

The hardware is very limited, and the WiFi card is a really old PCMCIA relic. The original software with its virtual machine is also limiting.

Except for preservation or sentimental reasons, a brain transplant is what would make them usable in a modern and practical way. There is at least one replacement board based on a raspberry pi zero w with open schematics and gerbers that I remember of, but I have no clue how is that replacement software-wise.
