I wouldn't mind an N64 mainly because of it's legendary SGI designed hardware, but I'd absolutely have to HDMI mod it, but apparently that's very expensive!

I have an N64 that I picked up recently too: it's in great nick, but I need a way to get video out of it. The various RGB mods that I've glanced at seem model-dependent, so I need to open it up and see what I'm working with. But I'll likely just RGB mod it and pipe that through an OSSC, rather than go for a full HDMI mod.

That's right. US NTSC (NS1) is the easiest one to RGB mod (just a few wires). But Japanese (NUJ1) and French (NUS-001(FRA)) can also be RGB modded for only a few £.

No UK models can be modded to produce RGB. You have to live with the normal S-Video.

AliExpress sell a range of HDMI modifications compatible with UK consoles for about £30 but they require precision soldering.

I'll have to see what the image quality is like, it should apparently work with my SNES cable which is already feeding my RetroTink, but I have no games at present, so not getting any display.

Given my SD cart seems to be in the wind I'm not entirely happy.

There is definitely more I want, but some of it is pretty expensive, so I may have to slow down
