Another PiStorm Blog
Seeing as the parts for a PiStorm system will be arriving this week I thought I'd create a new blog thread.
I'll be aiming to use my CPU switchable machine and once I have something stable I'll design a PiStorm board which better fits the ST and my relocator. It's quite possible I'll be able to design it so that the keyboard and case top can be installed.

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Im all for more Atari PiStorm pioneers and research Stephen!
Can you tell us what Pi model/version you are going to use?

Re: Another PiStorm Blog
If you want to minimise any potential issues, I highly recommend a Pi4. That with the combination of 374 latches on Exxos's pistorm version will give you the most mileage. It's the most successful combination. For some reason Pi3 doesn't seem as stable across a number of systems.

Re: Another PiStorm Blog
Yeah, I have a Pi4 1GB on the way. I'll be fitting a right-angled socket on the PiStorm board so that the Pi will sit vertically initially for better convection cooling. If/when I produce my own PiStorm adapter board I'll have the Pi sitting next to it using two right-angle connectors. The ST has more horizontal space than vertical, unlike the Amiga A500.

Re: Another PiStorm Blog
So IIRC from these PiStorm threads, a Pi5 is also not suitable?
Re: Another PiStorm Blog
@mrbombermillzy can't use a pi5 at all, it has much slower gpio performance.

Re: Another PiStorm Blog
The work area is ready and the system (still with the TF536) tested and working.

Re: Another PiStorm Blog
OK. PiHut say they've shipped it (in an e-mail from 10:30am) but Royal Mail are saying that they're waiting for the parcel. Hmm.. Probably no Pi4 tomorrow then.
P.S. Just got an e-mail from Royal Mail... It'll be delivered tomorrow after all.
