I've got some, somewhere, some have switches but I wouldn't trust old switches. I thought you was overseas though ?

Oh no I am warwickshire. I am still wanting to repair the original psu from my other posts but think it would be cool to mount a meanwell to another metal plate to use as a test psu as I have a few ste projects on the go at current. I am going to pico on one of the really bad psu just so I have a few options to hand.exxos wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2024 5:54 pm I've got some, somewhere, some have switches but I wouldn't trust old switches. I spent today learning plastic welding techniques as the case was originally shot. I am really pleased with the work in progress though. I am planning to strengthen the plastic screw threads with metal pipe around the ageing plastic and then insert some metal threaded inserts. Hopefully the end results will mean I have one solid case.
The vent grill on this one is missing a few rows from damage I plan to create a silicone mold from further along then use it over the damage area and inject some epoxy or something via a syringe not too sure yet if a syringe is too small but hopefully will find a way to fill the mold to repair the missing part of the case. I will then spray paint to match original colour as best as I can.
I have taken a few photos for anyone interested.
Cracked in usual places:
My first attempt at heat staples to strengthen the join from underneath not an easy process but has added way more strength as I find glue always cracks again.
I am researching best way to tackle the cracks from the facing side before painting but the one on the left is in a tricky spot. I may try melt some abs rod over the top or squeeze a suitable filler into the gap then use some mini files to try get the shape blended in prior to repainting.
It is work in progress and I don't even know if the motherboard works yet as I haven't a working psu to hand. Keyboard was painstakingly stripped down and deep cleaned last week again came put looking rather nice in my opinion.

Sounds interesting. Though maybe start your own blog on such things ? As forsale/wanted posts do tend to get deleted after a while.
