It is indeed
I got some more done today:
PXL_20240107_162044630.jpg
However there are some component oddities around resistors and capacitors I need to clear up from the assembly guide, and there are parts I don't yet have, but yeah, it is starting to take shape and I'm pretty pleased.
I decided to fit just the one keyswitch as a trial, and I'm quite pleased , it's a great fit.
Can't wait to see the final result !
Me either
May be a couple of weeks though, depends when the remaining parts arrive.

I'm undecided at this point, as I don't have the facilities/tools to easily make a case, but I may consider doing so at some point.
Such a pity that a case kit doesn't exist...
Just to add, I've been looking around over on OSIWeb and it seems the commercial version of the OSI were called the Challenger and came in a case. Sadly no sign of the plans!!
The keyboard matches this:

And if I were to build a case, it would be very much along these lines, though I'd likely make the entire thing from plywood since I just don't have the facilities/tools to bend a metal plate like that, though I do have the skills having worked in a sheet metal shop for some time.

Plywood is traditional.
Looks a lot like the Nascom 1s we had at school.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.
The guy made his own OSI case, but without the appropriate tools and knowledge, it would be a challenge...
Nice, that's spot on.

Indeed, and having watched a lot of similar machines on Tech Time Travellers YT channel this was the way these machines looked back in the day.
I never saw a Nascom when I was younger, but very aware of them and there are definite similarities.

@rubber_jonnie @stephen_usher
You can even build something like this:
Apple I.jpg
(And become famous and rich later...)
I'd hope for something a little less ramshackle

Yes, that would be more reasonable...
I think once it's built and working, I'll give it a go, but I'll need to sort out my workbench first, it needs a new top, then some extra tools to help me shape it. It'll be a while off, but definitely worth the effort.
