Wow, sounds like quite the project!!!chronicthehedgehog wrote: Thu Aug 31, 2023 1:12 pmrubber_jonnie wrote: Thu Aug 31, 2023 1:00 pm I've never seen so many wires hanging off a Speccy
The biggest breadboard project I did was a latch card to sound chip on my ZX81. It was limited, but actually worked ok. All lost to the mists of time sadly...and it almost worked.
I'd attached a raspi to the S7. Hand-coded a UART, circular FIFOs, CDC stuff etc in system verilog (because I didn't really understand AXI mainly). My first project was to allow various USB HIDs to be attached to the Spectrum via the PI but I couldn't figure out why I was getting two reads on my FIFO for every IORQ from the Spectrum.
I guess it was down to timing/constraints on the FPGA but that was way above my level of expertise and I never could find any info on it (beyond the 'hello world' type stuff). Shelved indefinitely but I can't bring myself to tear apart the breadboard - just in case I get the urge to do some Verilog![]()
It really attracts the dust![]()
I can imagine dusting is quite an issue, perhaps a can of air?
