Lol not quite, I bought a couple a while back, fixed them both, had a play with them and then put them on the shelf where they stayed until recently.

Well I think I caught the battery in time on my old Huawei Smart Watch 1. I haven't used the watch in a few years and put it on the other day and the charge lasted 5 mins.

Yikes, I'm surprised it didn't pop itself apart!!

I had a similar issue with my nVidia Shield tablet, but I woke up one morning and it was powered off and the back had popped of!!

I had a similar issue with my nVidia Shield tablet, but I woke up one morning and it was powered off and the back had popped of!!

It sort of did pop apart when I unscrewed it. At first I thought there might be some sort of spring mechanism to hold it together but it was obvious it was the battery.

My Dad's Google Pixel XL had similar battery issues, when it was about 18 months old. I replaced the battery with a NOS (as, of course, the battery and the phone were considered obsolete by then) and that lasted less than a year until that one did the same thing.

It seems that most manufacturers are just throwing in batteries which only have a couple of year life assuming that the consumer would replace the devices annually anyway.
