AMP board in place.. took some doing... I'm probably not going to release these boards as with all the bodge wires its causing a fair bit of interface, like the hissing and whistles like on the STE audio...

EDIT:

A lot of hiss seems to be generated by the H5 amp itself.. Now I bypassed it, things are a lot better again :)

This board has come out of retirement. It has been designated as a test machine which will be heading down to @Icky at some point soon.

All the later hacks have been removed and I have gone back to the stock fixes. The "Winamp" board has been removed as there is no real use in having it on this board (H5 A3) anyway. It was only really there is a prototype for the H5C1 to fix the slightly low volume on the MIDI synth module. Which ended up in a bit of a mess anyway

Sound testing fine :)

Great. Looking forward to getting my hands on it and turning it into a developer board to help with the FPGA direction :)

I am still not sure the plan is there ?

Do you want me to send this board working ,as is, or do you want me to remove the MMU/GLUE/BLITTER sockets ?

Plan is to have an H5 with plug in header sockets for BLITTER, MMU, GLUE as we have PCBs to be able to plug the original chips in sockets into those headers.

Here is an example one with turned sockets but am going to move these to header sockets to be more study as the turned pins often get bent etc. but headers pins and sockets are stronger.

Here is an example with original chips in place

And then below with the Phoenix Sparkalaphobia (FPGA BLITTER)

This way we will have a good dev board platform for a few of us to develop and test the next step on the Phoenix Platform journey with the different chips. I also have the PSU with an extra long lead so I can have it off to the side out of the way of the board. This board is not intended to be in a case :)

Just send working as is. I'll sort out the rest.

Leave it with the sockets and chips in and I’ll sort it all out as I can use the sockets on the plug-in boards.
