*drools*

Yeah the R5 only has a 144xl. It's totally full :(

For shits and giggles have you tried running GB6 ? I was sneaky in there though because I shifted the text tests over to the right by 1 pixel every loop to circumvent caches  but parts of the screen are more static so it should still boost a bit I think.

(Same setup without gofast.prg: 4110 frames)
Whoa, now we're talking!

Can anyone with a CT60 can let us know how this compares?

Incidentally, and amusingly, the game seems to make an effort to limit itself to 25fps. My my reckoning that would put an upper bound on the frames counted by Frontbench at 4800. It's obviously not a very good upper limit!

Would be interesting to see the result.
No, I don't mind -- I'm just too much of a coward to distribute them openly!

I would ask that if anyone uses these it's made clear when discussing the frame count that they don't come from frntbnch.prg, lest we confuse people.

Would Another World be a good test for performance improvements potentially?

I believe it's polygon based?

Finally installed the TF536 in my short ST and it works!
Flashed with 2022 07 27 Atari alpha.
Rom is 2.06 uk.

Is it correct that this firmware removes support for the blitter?
The blitter option is gone from the options menu (with or without blitfix).

When removing the tf536 and installing a 68000 the blitter works (also with games).

Or should I use Emutos in rom?

Just wondering if this is normal behavior.
