I didn't pay attention to the age of the PSU re the leak, but I think the main culprits were 520STFM era PSU's.

I have two A1200's and two A600's that need sorting. The early P4's used to keep me real busy recapping. Diabolical.

I've personally never had leaky caps in any of my STs. Doesn't mean they don't exist though.

Approx 20 STs, including a 520 STM, 520 STFMs, 3x Mega ST, MSTE & 2x 32 Mhz boosted STEs
Plus the rest, totalling around 50 machines including a QL, 3x BBC Model B, Electron, Spectrums, ZX81 etc...

Excellent video, with explanations all the way through. and indeed, the 2200uf caps he shows are so dead that the metal casing went through the plastic package and you can see from under that the electrolyte has leaked.

I have a 520 STF with a Mitsumi SR98 exactly like the one he showed, and i did the servicing on it, and i met exactly the same problem :
big 400v cap bombing on the top, and most caps around buldging.
