A500 TF534/RGBtoHDMI install

Post by Bikerbob »

Anyone have pics or can direct me to this specific combo?

I have a TF534, with mem68K and an RGBtoHDMI for a A500 rev6

I cannot figure out how to get this jammed into a A500 case. - No shield of course, but with the 90deg cpu relocator it puts the TF card OVER the DENISE CHIP.. so I have have it clear the RGBtoHDMI - using a STD adaptor I dont see how.

I know there is some long extended RGBtoHDMI - dont own it, but dont see how that helps. I could solder the HAT PI to the adapter - maybe reducing it to get UNDER the TF card.. anyone??

Thanks

I did a Google search just now and found a few images of how this is done.
Have you done a Google search? What search string did you use?

Well I did a search and found a "review" or two of installs, but nothing detailing I raised the relocators this much, or I had issues with getting the two to fit, one above the other.

I talked with a fellow who had done it, he said he remembers one extra row at the cpu socket (Ill use the mem68k) and another row at the other end to raise the TF534 up .. he said that fit under the keyboard, but he was not able to get the shielding back on.

Im not so concerned about the shielding, just the case back together, but kinda worried that the keyboard has enough support and that the keyboard backing is metal, and any contact would be shorting the computer, not good.

But no real good pictures of how it all "Fits" together.

Also the AMOUNT of weight hanging off the cpu pins is very significant.. Im wondering about using some foam to support the TF card on the fwd edge.

So how about taking the relocator out of the picture and stacking one, maybe 2 68K sockets in the original and plugging the TF card right in? If you aren't refitting the shield it may be clear enough like that.

I can't imagine the height would be that different to the relocator so should still fit.

So far, I have not been able to get this working.

first, can the TF534 initiate with a 1.3 kickstart rom.. I know the IDE wont work.. but will the card at least get to a screen?

My 3.1 roms, are not seeming to work.. with anything not just the TF card. 1.3 works..

RGBtoHDMI is working.

68k cpu is working.. so is my mem68k card.. I cannnot get the TF534 to boot.. not sure how to test.. this did work in a 2000.

THe light comes on the IDE card.. sometimes It does seem to try and read the card.. but so far no screen for anything.

So Im wonding on the kickstart rom..
