Also, if you're intending to use TOS 2.06, I believe you must use the ROM socket on the IDE adapter in order to take advantage of the decode it needs.

If you don't have a ROM in the IDE adapter, and are using the original ROM slots, then you will need to boot using a floppy that has hard disk drivers on it.

TOS 1.04 doesn't boot from IDE without a patch, which I uploaded earlier in this post.

But as exxos said, you can either use one ROM or the other, but not both.

so if i remove the rom from the board it could fire up the machine just for testing, as i will need to fit sockets for a 6 rom 1.04 and caps, then once i have it working i can sort out the dual rom as i really only want the 1.04 roms in the system

The controller tested for me on ST, MST and how I used the PLCC-DIP adapter worked on STE.

And so, if we want to use DUALTOS in IDE EXXOS, it has to be removed TOS from the disc, otherwise it will not work 100%.
If we want to have TOS 1.04 installed on the disc, it will work, but this TOS must have a patch.
And don't forget to connect the IDE to ACSI10.

ASCI. wire is to allow TOS206 to auto boot from IDE... TOS 1.4 cannot boot from IDE... In that case you have to load driver from floppy everytime...

I did 104/206 for IDE V1.1 R1.C. Where TOS 104 has the IDE autoboot patch.

Works great !!

All of my dual boot 1.04\2.06 ROMs have the 1.04 patch from @czietz for IDE boot, works brilliantly.

You do know the IDE board decodes TOS206 ?

Although you get the 2.06 decode with the interface, there is a patched 1.04 version I uploaded in the ROMs section which will boot to IDE.
