A friendly user from the atari-home forum make my DFB1 Speeder @Badwolf build for me to work. I couldn't do it myself because my hands are shaking and that makes SMD solder rework impossible for me.
The DFB1 run at 40Mhz CPU speed and 20Mhz FPU speed. The perfect FPU function in interaction is not quite there yet.
The DFB1 plus a Nova Falcon is a very good setup for the Atari Falcon. I have a 2MB VRAM ATI MACH32 in my Nova Falcon Adapter.

The DFB1 need Pinheader on Top to fit the Nova Falcon.

Re: DFB1 + Nova Falcon Graphicadapter...
You need a desktop case for that Falcon now Perhaps you can find one of those old full silver aluminium cases. It would look nice.

I would like to have a new half upper case made of metal. I'll ask may be a locksmith company ...

Where can I buy the Nova Falcon Adapter?
Can I build it?
Can I build it?
Re: DFB1 + Nova Falcon Graphicadapter...
I briefly played with Nova at some point years ago, for some software compatibility fixes or other. But it was on loan and I had to give it back
I should have tried to pick up a MACH32 or 64 nearer the time. Think they are unobtanium now. Probably I should dig through some old PCs in the garage to see what cards pop out....

There is one on Ebay or I can sell you a PCB Set plus a programed GAL. Send me a PM ...

Re: DFB1 + Nova Falcon Graphicadapter...
Thanks for the info, I bought it on eBay, I just need to buy a graphics card. Is there a list of cards that work with this adapter?frank.lukas wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 12:01 pmDriver -> https://silicon-heaven.org/atari/nova/markus0321 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 11:21 am Where can I buy the Nova Falcon Adapter?

If I manage to run it and it will work properly, you will probably need another adapter, then I will contact you.

Put it in the mail right away ...
ATI ISA MACH32 or MACH64 are hard to find these days. Lockout in the us for the ATI numbers from the cards.
Any ET4000AX should work. W32i do not work. Rare but it happens that cards not work. Diamond Speedstar ET4000 do not work.

Re: DFB1 + Nova Falcon Graphicadapter...
I tried at home with the TSENG ET4000AX (1MB) and it works, but not quite well. Only 2 color and 256 color modes work properly. The other modes don't work properly (it's possible I configured or installed NVDI incorrectly).
The second problem is that my image shows artifacts in the form of randomly damaged pixels. These image corruptions are bigger on DFB1@50MHz and smaller on DFB1@40MHz but they still occur, they disappear only when I put the jumper on OPTION2 (DFB1@16MHz).
Does anyone know where I can look for a problem, is it a problem with the card, drivers or maybe the adapter is damaged?

Re: DFB1 + Nova Falcon Graphicadapter...
Color depths depend on the RamDAC. See the Datasheet of your DAC. 2, 16 or 256 Colors are possible with a 8bit DAC and the T0 Nova Driver. For more colors you need a isa card with a 15/16bit or 24bit RamDAC. But with 1MB Video Ram the max at 24bit colors are 640x480 Pixel. For more you need a ATI MACH Card with 2MB or 4MB Videoram.
NVDI ET4000 is complicated and supports not all DAC Types and cards.
Artifacts are a DRAM Thing or bad contacts at the isa slot or a faulty 244/245 driver chip on the isa card or Artifacts can do something with wrong setting for the I/O and memory Addressrange with NVDI ET4000 ...
Try the Nova driver Falcon T0 ...
