@go0se ,

Does the issue with the TL866 programmer also apply to the TL866II Plus? This text claims it supports M27C1000: http://www.autoelectric.cn/MiniPro/TL866II_List.txt

I have a handful of "27C100-150 1 meg (128K X 8) UV eraseable EPROM. 32 pin ceramic DIP package" (that's all the info I have on them). Will they maybe work for use with CDTV extended roms?

Thanks

The 27C100 will work but you will need Goose's adapter that swaps the pin config so they can be programmed

Provided you can supply your own 2 X 16 X 2.54mm headers and 32 position ZIF socket.

Some cheap fake 3M ZIFs that should do the job can be found here :

Do you still have one of these to spare? Postage is to USA 74011. Thank you!

Hi Geordi,

It would probably be faster and cheaper to get the PCBs, ZIF sockets and 2.54mm pitch header pins from China than the postage for a single built adapter.

The Gerbers for the adapter are here:

The Zif sockets are here :

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32985707354.html

You need to order the "32 pin wide" option.

Any 2.54mm pitch round or square header pins will fit depending on your preference. e.g. :

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32970438934.html

From the same store as the ZIF sockets.

You can give all the extras to your CDTV owning friends as belated Christmas presents ;)

Cheers.

I can populate a simple board (and I already have the header pins), but I've never ordered PCB before. I've seen jlcpcb.com mentioned a few times. Where would you recommend ordering the PCB?

My first priority is upgrading the CDTV OS roms, but I'm looking to get a TF536 for my CDTV. Captain Future told me to make sure I "get one with a low profile adapter so that it fits in the CDTV player with the lid back on".

I can solder, but a 68030 socket and surface mount ICs might be outside my skill and tool sets. Is there anyone assembling low-profile 536s for sell?

If you are ordering the adapter PCBs from JLCPCB then upload the Gerber zip archive attached above to their quote page and select the following settings:

I actually have a relocater designed and tested that takes a single 27C400 instead of the 2x 27C1000 eproms. I'll try and post it up in the next few days.

I just ordered that set. PCP, socket and headers.

I think this is little confusing. TL866 doesn't say these chips can't programmed. Programming just fails.

That's correct, because MX27C1000 chips has same pinout as MBM27C1001, check Datasheet!
So You still need that Adapter to be able to burn them...

Here is my attempt to build eprom adapter. Could somebody confirm that components are right side of pcb?
