I used this guide to program my 1st TF536 as a complete noob using Pi3b RasPi Imager, DL'd the desktop vers RaspPiOS 32bit turned out it was pretty
straightforward.

Thanks to Higgy for the pointers on what to do.

The bustest speeds are for 50mhz at the top and 80mhz at the bottom.

The sysspeed memory test score show some comparisons - TF1260 is 80mhz, Apollo 1260 is 80mhz, and the NoFBlit column is a Blizzard 1260 at 80mhz

TF1260 is significantly faster than the opposition for fast ram read/write! Amazing work Stephen :D

Suffice to say Quake and Doom performance is through the roof

Alien Breed 3D II also runs beautifully! Really smooth now

One more thing to mention: don't forget to use something like MMULibs MuFastROM to copy your ROM into the super fast ram. With MuFastROM ON called in startup-sequence, ROM speed jumps to 50/60MB/s which significantly improves the 'snappiness' of the system, and cache speed registers as moreorless the same as the blizz and apollo.

I'm not kidding guys... Keep firmware programming off this thread.

I have upgraded the firmware in my TF1260 but unfortunately I have to report it is unstable.

OS3.2 boots half the time, the other half of the time I think its crashing during boot around when SetPatch is run. Sometimes it crashes when the Workbench GUI is up.

Without MUFastRom, motherboard HDD speed is about 600kb, with MUFastROM it's 1.5mb, using a Sandisk 4GB card. I'm not too concerned about this.

Overall the system feels snappy, 060 demos run smooth, AIBB numbers are higher! But the A1200 constantly guru's where it was rock solid before.

My 1200 motherboard is a 1D4. I am using OS3.2 roms with OS3.2 software. I am using a PCMCIA wifi card and I have tried removing the card but guru's persist. I have verified the 1260 serial number is 999. The CPLD and CPU are not hot, I have a small blower fan blowing air directly across them (and it worked previously). I am not clocking higher than 50mhz CPU speed.

Edit: timing fixes have not been applied. But the system was stable prior to the firmware upgrade.

Any help is appreciated. Anything I can do to assist with diagnosis, I am happy to do.

Cheers,
Matt.

edit: clarified it is motherboard HDD speed running at 600kb.

Do you have 3.1 roms you can swap in and try?

A set of Chris Morley’s eprom emulators is great for this sort of stuff!

I managed to flash the beta firmware to my TF1270, using a Raspberry Pi 3B+, with no issues. The system currently seems stable with my rev. 6 68060 at 79.16 MHz.

For reference, this is a 1D.4 Amiga Technologies board with unpopulated E123/E125 components. Running a custom 3.2 ROM with built-in icon.library, workbench.library, and ehide.device. MuFastROM and MuFastZero installed. Very nippy.

Starstruck runs almost like hot butter, little to none of the juddering during scrolling in the first part of the demo.

Very impressed so far. :ugeek:

Flashed the beta firmware, using a Raspberry Pi 3, onto my TF1260 this weekend. Machine seems stable and memory throughput has improved dramatically (35-45 MB/s at 50 MHz, 55-65 MB/s at 75 MHz)! Nice work, and many thanks for making the update available!
