This isn’t a TF1230

Post by terriblefire »

Just to point out that ...

https://m.olx.pl/d/oferta/karta-turbo-a ... OSqG4.html

is not a TF1230. Its not supported and selling this is in breach of the No-Derivates part of the license.

It certainly isnt a 1b version... I'd really like my name taken off that.

That said im not against people experimenting for personal use but selling derivatives is not on.

 Why would anybody go through all that trouble when there is already an elegant solution.

Interesting choice of CPU placement - at first I though it seemed like a neat idea but then thought how would you actually install it through the trapdoor??

Seems like lots and lots and lots of vias :/

Tbh it’s exactly useless and harmful things like this that are what make me not want to open source stuff.

It’s not about me wanting it to be all about me. It’s not wanting something you put time and effort into being vandalised like this. This is an awful vanity project by someone who knows nothing.

If someone took the 1230 files, majorly improved it without vandalism and applying dogmatic rules that are measurably wrong then I’d be for it. But this is what happens.

So I shall not be giving out any more Eagle files. I didn’t really care about the 1230 so much but it was a good test balloon to see what idiots would do with it.

Please don’t autoroute my boards and sell them….. man that’s painful

I just dont get why tbh?!?!? It makes no sense! The routing looks complete bollox - vias everywhere as a result, they added nothing to it but possible reasons it might not be as stable as a real TF1230. The soldering on the expansion connector looks terrible - maybe they should have name it "TerribleSoldering&Routing v1"

Probably somebody who thinks he's a genius because he managed to make the board smaller. Nevermind the fact that he's bolloxed it up in the process.

actually I think some good has come out of this, I have a great idea to build a PCB Borg cube out of black autorouted TF pcbs with tented vias 😂
