Will this project ever become available for sale? Also any go fund or kickstart funding options available to help with this? I would still be extremely interested in a new aftermarket case build. I managed to source a used original one but still has defects.

Kickstart etc has been mentioned before in this thread back here https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... 4916#p4917. In terms of molding from the original molds this has been discussed which is how the Amiga 1200 cases have been remade using the originals - https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... f=11&t=715

Unfortunately the pandemic and moving house has put this on hold for me over the last year. However that said I am now settled into my new place and have my large 3D Printer (Giant Panda) ready to calibrate after the move to start printing new prototype pieces I was working on last i.e. the STE joystick ports slots and cover. Plan was to fire it up this weekend.

Once we have everything tuned to our satisfaction with the case we will get a couple of proper prototypes made from a manufacturer. Again as mentioned this is a long process but we will get there.

One thing to point out is that this will not be an exact reproduction i.e. you will not be able to take an original top case and put it on the new bottom part of the case. This is because we have strengthened and improved for printing / manufacturing. Thus a whole new case would be required to fit your original STE / STFM / H4 / H5 motherboard.

Wow so much detail in that response. Sounds awesome I will totally be interested in buying a production ready case in future. I don't really care if it's not the same as original as would much prefer something that looks like original but with improvements like you mention. Keep up the great work.

I would also like to see someone making new keys with lasered on letters. Black keys or original grey keys. I would probably like to see a black aftermarket shell and black keys as I saw a picture somewhere of this and looked amazing.

This looks like a very cool project. I would love a bottom case for the Falcon 030 (compatible with an ST top)

The A1200.net cases were not made using the original molds (at least not according to the kickstarter).

Well I would need the dimensions and features of a Falcon bottom part to add as options to the case. I don't have access to one so may be pics and measurements may help to start with.

Noted. Once we have the case in a form that is feasible to move forward as finalised masses ready item then we can start to look at proper manufacturing in some form.

@Matej, having a closer look, the first one is 8K which is the better resolution but when the the size is increased for the XY build space you are reducing the res. Also the second one is only 4K. I dread to think the price of an 8K that can do that size.

For reference you need a 500mm x 350mm x 350mm build space at least to print a case.

As we are talking about the case I am looking to bring the pink prototype case down to the Cyber Legends event in September - viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5633
