Possibly, I use xBoot and have it installed as an acc, so it autoloads, but I still have to go into the 'Desk' menu and click on it before it shows in the top tight hand corner.

From "AREAL37.DOC"
"The clock can be set to automatically start up when the program boots and a double bell sound can be made to indicate
the accessory has been loaded."
Not sure if that means it's actually showing up in it's corner position though...

Re: RTC program to display time on menubar ?
Just a follow up - I went ahead and installed this on my Mega STe.
I ran the configuration program, which created an .INF file in C:,
(root drive). I placed the ACC on the root drive as well and put
the actual program itself in the AUTO folder. From the configuration
program I picked start at boot.
This worked. The ACC seems to have a very limited function. I can
turn the corner clock on/off with it, but that's about all.
If I don't have the ACC in my root drive, the clock doesn't appear.
Not sure if there is a way around that or not. I also didn't try using
it with just the ACC and nothing in the AUTO folder. I'll play around
with it more later today.
Getting sleepy...

So you're saying it actually starts with the clock in the top right then after configuring?Darklord wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 6:54 am Just a follow up - I went ahead and installed this on my Mega STe.

For me it starts in the desk menu and I have to click it to show the clock. Must look into it.
EDIT - I used the the config program and set it to run at boot and it does just that I now get the clock in the corner automagically when the machine boots.

"DIT - I used the the config program and set it to run at boot and it does just that I now get the clock in the corner automagically when the machine boots."
Yep, that's the ticket that worked for me. It complained for me until I ran the configuration program and actually created the .INF file.
At first, I was thinking, "hmm...", ACC *and* AUTO folder program? Ugh.
But then, after using it a while last night I found the ACC to be handy to turn off the clock in software that it visually interferes with.
Assuming the software lets you access the menu bar, that is - otherwise, I turn it off before running that software.
Still checking it for compatibility with everything I use but for now, it's a keeper. Thanks!

Re: RTC program to display time on menubar ?
I hate in when I try and remember auto programs I used thirty years ago.......
I used to use a auto program and I'm pretty sure it put date and time on the menu bar as well as caps lock and disk activity. I probably have it buried on an old floppy somewhere.

Re: RTC program to display time on menubar ?
Well...guess I spoke too soon.
I just installed it on my STacy. It has an internal Ultrasatan (as does my
Mega STe).
During boot-up, it stops the boot up process and says it can't find the
clock module, requiring you to press the <return> key to proceed.
I might suspect it was getting confused with 2 clocks but the Mega STe's
internal US doesn't seem to interfere. At least, I don't have to hit the
<return> key on it.
Despite that, once it gets to the desktop the clock shows up fine in the
corner, correct time and all. <shrugs>
Gonna go read the docs some more - maybe there's something in there
about this.

Re: RTC program to display time on menubar ?
Okay, scratch that.
As it turns out, you *don't* have to use the AUTO folder program. At least in my
case I don't.
After reading the docs a little more thoroughly (it's right there), I removed the
AUTO folder program and the corner clock comes up fine, correct time and all
and no error messages.
So...still a keeper.

I've only ever used the ACC myself, though TBH I'd never played with the config app so I learned something newDarklord wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 3:24 am Okay, scratch that.
